Craig and Kathryn Hall have been actively involved in our local community through philanthropic efforts, as homeowners in Napa for more than two decades, and as environmental stewards who have supported sustainable agricultural practices through their HALL and WALT wine labels. In 2005, they purchased the Walt Ranch property in an effort to plant new vineyards and produce quality wine grapes. All of their Napa Valley estate vineyards have been farmed organically and have been certified by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF).
Kathryn Hall comes from an agricultural background, having managed her family’s vineyard from 1982 to 1992, selling grapes to other wineries, as well as producing Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon under the label WALT Vineyards. From 1997 to 2001, she served as the United States Ambassador to Austria. Since her return to America, she has resumed her role as proprietor of HALL Wines along with Craig. Continuing upon her experience promoting American agriculture in Austria, in September 2001 she was appointed to the United States Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee (ATAC) for international trade.
Craig Hall is chairman and founder of Hall Financial Group. A life-long entrepreneur and investor, in addition to the vineyard and winery business, his professional interests today include real estate, venture capital, technology and hotels in the United States and Europe. Craig Hall is the author of five books, the most recent being Timing the Real Estate Market: The Secrets to Buying Low and Selling High.
Craig and Kathryn have been benefactors to numerous local charitable organizations and non-profits, including the Napa Emergency Women’s Shelter, Legal Aid of Napa Valley, the Napa Valley Land Trust, the Aldea Children & Family Services Center, Festival del Sole, Copia, Auction Napa Valley and numerous other charitable organizations that help improve the quality of life for residents across Napa County.
